The hamlet of Anthos lies at the end of the Kyrenian Mountain Range about 20 miles west of Kyrenia. The location is approximately 800 ft above sea level in an area of natural beauty far away from the tourist areas.  Anthos is an avenue of twelve houses built in 1972.  Each house is individually designed with large private mature gardens, surrounded by woodlands and fields filled with Olive and Carob trees.  Pepper Tree House has panoramic views of a beautiful valley with rising hills to the sea and spectacular views to the Taurus Mountains in Turkey.  Nearby beaches are a 10 minute drive down the mountain road where you can also sample traditional Cypriot food in the beach side restaurants. You can walk down to the valley where you may hear sheep bells or see one of the local shepherds with his donkey along the way.  The views are just stunning. 

If you long for a tranquil retreat to spend your holiday relaxing, Anthos is perfect.  If you feel more active then a variety of sports including tandem para-gliding, horse riding, mountain bike hire and walking tours are available.  During the Spring time, organised Orchid Walks take place in a nearby village.
